Field & Fawcett, the wine merchants and delicatessen at Grimston Bar, will open its doors to customers on Thursday 4 June as a food hall. Open 9am to 5.30pm from this Thursday, the award winning shop and wine merchants will be selling a wide range of gourmet food items as well as a new selection of delicious homemade ready-meals. To celebrate the re-opening the first 100 customers spending over £25 on Thursday will take away a 20cl bottle of Joseph Perrier Champagne worth £10.95.

Cathryn Fawcett, who owns Field & Fawcett with her husband Peter, and who normally runs the popular Field & Fawcett Café, says: “We have been selling wines ordered by phone throughout the lockdown, successfully working with self-distancing rules and we had been considering how best to protect our customers on the food retail side of our business when the restrictions are lifted. Following the Government’s recent directives on re-opening and with measures in place for our customers to feel safe and protected, we have made the decision to re-open the shop.

The retail area of Field & Fawcett will become more of a food hall in concept showcasing the range of gorgeous locally sourced jams and chutneys, Italian gourmet dried goods and food gift items, plus our extensive range of wines, beers and spirits. They have put in place a one-way system for customers, with time to browse at leisure, with our advice and recommendations still playing a large part in our customer service. "We are confident that we have got it right and look forward to welcoming our customers from Thursday.”

Cathryn has been working hard with The Café chef Lee Milnes on the ready-meals. Devised to provide tasty food made easy, Cathryn and Lee have created some delicious meals as a quick go-to meal option with the taste of home.

Customers who prefer to order wine, cheese and deli items by either phone or online and collect are welcome to continue to do so. They are also delivering to YO postcodes free of charge.

The first 100 customers at Field & Fawcett on Thursday 4 June spending £25 will take away a 20cl bottle of Joseph Perrier Champagne worth £10.95. Minimum spend per customer only, terms and conditions apply for Thursday 4 June only. All subject to availability.
