Specialist family law firm Lake Legal has marked 15 years in business with a record turnover and a brace of award nominations. The firm also saw an increase in the number of divorce cases it managed for high-net-worth individuals.

Commenting on the results, Claire Glaister, managing partner, said: “Lake Legal continues to go from strength to strength. Our team is recognised for excellence across the industry, and our reputation is driving our growth. We look forward to the coming year and continuing to build our team.”

Lake Legal is nominated for Family Law Firm of the Year (North) and Brooke Dempsey as Young Lawyer of the Year, in the prestigious Lexis Nexis Family Law Awards. The winners will be announced at the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge in London in November.

Founder Lyn Ayrton, is continuing to grow the firm’s arbitration practice, which allows spouses who are going through a divorce to settle their differences more quickly, confidentially, and in a more flexible and less formal atmosphere than a courtroom.

In the industry Bibles, Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, Lake Legal has consistently been ranked in the top tier, while Lyn and Claire are singled out for their expertise in family law. Lyn is one of only a handful of solicitors in the region qualified to arbitrate cases rather than clients having to resort to the court, which is an expensive and lengthy process.

Lake Legal operates nationally from its office in Leeds. It supports a range of charities across the region, from Leeds Community Foundation to Moor Allerton Bowls Club and Pannal Cricket Club.
