A South Leeds garden centre is the first to launch a range of houseplant accessories from a fellow Leeds business.

The GrowTropicals range of peat-free houseplant potting mixes is now available at Tingley Garden Centre.

"GrowTropicals was set up by passionate houseplant hobbyist Jacob James during the COVID-19 pandemic. Community is at the heart of everything we do at Tingley, so we're delighted to support a local business and its entrepreneurial founder," said Emma Telford, a member of the houseplant team at Tingley Garden Centre.

"We're pleased to launch a selection of GrowTropicals potting mixes and components, including orchid, cacti, terrarium and houseplant mixes. All are designed to provide the optimal environment for houseplants to thrive and have been tested in the company's nursery, which is home to 14,000 houseplants."

Jacob is delighted with the listing: "Tingley Garden Centre is our first garden centre stockist in West Yorkshire and we're looking forward to seeing how our high-quality care products help local people to nurture their houseplants and terrariums."

GrowTropicals is a multi-award winning houseplant-focused brand that has quickly evolved into a trusted name and whose products are used at institutions including Kew, The RHS and Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

Tingley Garden Centre is part of the Yorkshire Garden Centres family that also owns Tong, Otley and Bingley Garden Centres plus Dean's in York and Scarborough. It is home to a unique mix of shopping, dining and play for all the family, including Mission Out adventure playground, Grass Hoppers, Blooms Kitchen and Hearty's Food Hall.
