Letting agent named Learner of the Year at property industry awards

A letting agent at Brown & Co, an agency in North Ferriby, East Yorkshire, has been named Learner of the Year at this year’s annual awards of Propertymark Qualifications, the UK’s leading awarding body that provides professional qualifications for the leading property sector brands.
Rosie Croft, 29, was presented with her award by TV personality Phil Spencer at the iconic British Museum in front of an audience of rising stars in the property world and seasoned professionals.
The awards celebrate those who achieve outstanding results in their examinations and apprenticeship assessments, as well as the personal achievements of learners who are nominated by their peers. Rosie was one of eight award winners.
Rosie joined Brown and Co as a receptionist in 2018 before becoming a lettings negotiator. Nominating her for the award, Rosie’s colleagues described her ‘positivity and cheerfulness as an inspiration’ having continued to work and study while overcoming some personal challenges.
Speaking after being presented with her award, Rosie said: “It was a real privilege to be in the final three and even better to win. It’s been a tough year with all the studying, an office move, and I’ve had some time off with illness, so this is a great end. Having qualifications has given me real confidence in doing my job and means a lot to be here and for the hard work to be appreciated.”
Propertymark Qualifications provides professional qualifications for the leading sector brands. Over the past year nearly 7,000 new learners register for a qualification, going on to take more than 10,600 exams.
Michael Smith, head of propertymark qualifications, said: “There is currently no UK-wide requirement for property agents to hold a recognised qualification, so to see a sustained demand demonstrates a real appetite among those entering and progressing in the profession to get qualified and to be fully accredited.
“Our annual awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our current crop of learners like Rosie and to acknowledge the great enthusiasm within the property profession to drive up standards.
“To hear their inspiring stories at the British Museum, an iconic property, and in the company of Phil Spencer, one of the best-known names in the sector, made this year’s awards extra special. We hope it inspires even more people who are working in property or are considering it as a career option to begin their personal and professional development.”
