The Pride in Diversity Awards (PiDA) will make its debut on July 3, 2025, at Leeds First Direct Arena, shining a spotlight on individuals and organisations that champion diversity and inclusion.

This landmark event will recognise outstanding contributions across corporate leadership, community engagement, and innovation in diversity practices.

Television personality and LGBTQ+ advocate Matt Jameson, known for his charity work and appearance on E4’s Married at First Sight UK, will host the evening. His passion for inclusion will set the tone for an inspiring and celebratory event.

“This is something that Yorkshire is just crying out for, and it’s incredible that we can celebrate all the wonderful things that are already happening in our region. We’re in the middle of a massive shift, and events like this will only skyrocket the change in perspective.” Says Matt co-founder of the Awards.

The Pride in Diversity Awards will recognise excellence such areas as corporate leadership, community engagement, and innovation in diversity practices. Nominations are open to businesses, non-profit organisations, and individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing inclusion within their communities and industries.

"This is more than just an event; it's a movement towards recognising and celebrating the rich tapestry of diversity that strengthens our society," said Jane Clynes, co-founder of PiDA. "We are thrilled to have Matt as our host, bringing his passion and dedication to the cause."

The charity partner for this inaugural event is Out Together, a charity that advocates inter-generational LGBTQ+ unity and support across Yorkshire. The PiDA team will be promoting and fundraising for the charity throughout the evening.

Local businesses showing support through event sponsorship include the Ethnic Minority Business and Policy Forum, YABA (Yorkshire Asian Business Association), First Direct Arena, Manning Stainton, Fallen Leaf Web Design, Marriott Leeds, and Youbee Media.

Corporate sponsors will have the unique opportunity to nominate a representative for the official judging panel, sitting alongside distinguished diversity champions such as radio DJ Stephanie Hirst and public figure Jono Lancaster.

The First Direct Arena, recognised for hosting significant cultural and entertainment events, provides a fitting backdrop for this inaugural ceremony, underscoring the city's commitment to embracing and celebrating diversity.

Lisa Turton, head of premium sales says, “We are honoured to host this new event at the arena. We recognise the importance of championing diversity, and feel that this is something the city, and Yorkshire really needs. Partnering with Surplus to Purpose also aligns with our commitment to sustainability, so we’re really excited for it to take place.”

Organisations and individuals interested in participating or attending can find more information and submit nominations through the official website, www.prideindiversity.co.uk
