The Piece Hall’s vibrant independent retail community has reopened for business, enabling valued customers to shop local and support independent businesses in the lead-up to Christmas. Throughout December, the iconic destination for retail, leisure and culture will offer both in-store and online retail services to enable businesses to operate and customers to shop flexibly throughout the coming weeks.

With the second lockdown easing and the new tier system coming into play, The Piece Hall’s retailers will be able to reopen their shop doors, while the successful recently-launched online click & collect service will continue to cater for customers who feel more comfortable shopping online.

Encouraging people to shop local for their Christmas gifts and supporting tenants throughout the traditional Christmas trading period, The Piece Hall will open around enhanced hours for the lead-up to Christmas, opening Monday to Wednesday 10:00-18:00; Thursday to Saturday 10:00-20:00; and Sunday 10:00-17:00.

Nicky Chance-Thompson DL, CEO at The Piece Hall Trust, said: “We are all so happy to welcome back our tenants and customers to The Piece Hall. We offer a safe, relaxed and festive environment for you to buy some really interesting and thoughtful gifts for your loved ones, knowing you are supporting and sustaining our local traders.

“Throughout recent weeks, we’ve been working closely with our tenants, helping them to navigate the challenging circumstances and trade safely online, and it’s been fantastic to see many businesses, not only in The Piece Hall but throughout Calderdale, showing such resilience in adversity.

“The Piece Hall is now very much open-for-business throughout December and we look forward to seeing you soon.”

The reopening follows the success of The Piece Hall’s innovative new click & collect service, which saw consumers react positively, shop local and support independent businesses throughout the second lockdown.

In line with the latest restrictions, The Piece Hall’s food and beverage outlets will remain closed, however where possible these have been converted into takeaway, for example The Deli.

Customers can also shop local and support independent businesses by visiting The Piece Hall website: https://www.thepiecehall.co.uk/shop
