The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) sets standards for over 30,000 UK recruitment agencies, recognizing their professionalism and value. Championing an industry which is fundamental to the UK economy.

Over a third of recruitment agencies are based in London and 80% are micro- businesses with fewer than 10 staff. James Ray Recruitment, based in Beverley, East Yorkshire, has been shortlisted for the Start Up of the Year Award 2024, making it the only Yorkshire agency nominated in this category.

This Award celebrates the achievements of new businesses in their first years and focuses on innovation, quality of service and willingness to go above and beyond for your clients and candidates. It takes into account your initial strategy, challenges you’ve faced and your USP amongst other things.

Established in 2022 by Rachel Parker and Luke Bottomley, James Ray Recruitment offers temporary education recruitment services in Yorkshire and permanent recruitment across the UK in the Commercial, Legal, and HR & Finance sectors. They support schools, academies and businesses to build successful and talented teams. They are proud of how far they have come in two years, providing a high standard of service as evidenced in their numerous reviews and clients that continue to choose James Ray Recruitment as their provider.

Since their launch they have carved out a niche placing working parents, particularly women in business in their dream role. They found a number of these women either had flexibility or progression, not both. Over the last 2 years they have placed a number of candidates in flexible roles as Head of Department, leading an office or with a route to Partnership, with significant salary increases, sometimes as much as 40%.

The ceremony will be held on 21st November at the Royal Lancaster London and promises to be a spectacular event.
