A Yorkshire-based PR agency is celebrating six years of trading with the launch of a PR training offer, as well as a new client win.

Leeds-based MacComms continues to manage the public and media relations for entrepreneurial-led businesses across the north of England and it has added Yorkshire-based Love Exploring to its impressive client roster. Love Exploring is an app which helps people explore parks across the UK and includes augmented reality to entertain families by seeking out dinosaurs, fairies and learning about the history of the sites they visit.

MacComms has also launched a PR training support package to teach entrepreneurs how to promote their own businesses in a bid to support smaller businesses who may have struggled over the past year.

Founder and managing director of MacComms, Ellie MacDonald, noticed a gap to support businesses who may have more time and inclination to do their own PR. The launch of its PR training includes group training and 1-2-1 sessions, with downloadable resources now available at https://www.maccomms.net/pr-tools-and-training/.

MacComms, formed in April 2015 by multi-award-winning businesswoman Ellie MacDonald, has helped hundreds of owner-managed firms to raise their profile and credibility with a particular focus on tech and manufacturing with clients including Vet-AI, RapidSpike and Widd Signs.

Founder and managing director of MacComms, Ellie MacDonald, comments: “I feel incredibly proud to be celebrating six years of MacComms. I set out with just a few hundred pounds savings and have turned that into a business which represents some of the most exciting companies across the north of England, most of which we have retained even during the most difficult year for businesses.

“I noticed how some businesses were struggling from the Covid-19 pandemic and I knew there was more I could do to help. Whilst our core offering continues to thrive and we’re delighted to welcome exciting adventure app, Love Exploring, I knew there was a demand to support entrepreneurs who have more time than budget to employ us to manage their PR. I have, therefore, created a bank of resources and I will teach people how to effectively promote their own companies and ensure their businesses thrive, regardless of what is happening in the world.

“I’ve learnt so much in the past six years which I’m excited to share with likeminded entrepreneurs and senior managers.”

MacComms is run by Ellie MacDonald who is supported by a team of experienced freelancers across PR, journalism, copywriting, marketing, event, and social media management. Ellie selects the best talent to work alongside her to support client accounts and drive business growth.

The first group PR training programme commences in June and Yorkshire Business Woman members can get 10% off by entering the code YorksBW at https://www.maccomms.net/product/pr-training-course/.
