A Tiktok star from Bradford, West Yorkshire who specialises in cars has landed her first TV presenting job as she appears on a new TV series about classic cars.

Abigayle Andre who is the face of viral TikTok channel @SheTalksCars was headhunted by producers of the Repair Lot which starts this month on Dave TV.

Abigayle who has her own segment on each episode, said that it’s proof “dreams do come true.”

The 30-year-old started her TikTok channel @SheTalksCars at the end of lockdown in a bid to help motorists make the most of their vehicles while also sharing her expertise as a former car consumer advisor.

Thanks to Abigayle’s down-to-earth personality, stylish dress sense and knowledge and passion in the motoring industry, brands have sought for her to be the face of their latest vehicle.

Abigayle, who previously worked as a skin care specialist before starting on TikTok, said: “I’ve always wanted to work full time in motoring and on TV, so to be able to combine my interests is brilliant.

“While this TV show focuses on classic cars, it shines a light on our heritage and our nation's love of vehicles of all ages.”

Abigayle said that her own identity has been reflected in her love of cars, as her father is a motoring enthusiast and led her to working for a car manufacturer.

She said: “I’m a former car customer relations advisor, I predominantly worked for Volkswagen Group and Audi, before training as a skincare consultant and founding a homeless charity.

“My love of cars has always stayed with me and I would always be buying the latest motoring supplement or car magazine. I dreamed of sharing my own knowledge about cars too and Tiktok gave me that platform to be able to help a lot of people save money and make the most of their vehicle.

Abigayle continued: “My segment is specifically about automobilia, so if people have automobilia pieces that they want restored or changed into something either for a charity effort or to preserve a memory.”

Other presenters on the Repair Shop include; Derek Drinkwater a classic car mechanic who’s driving in the 2023 Le Mans classic 24 hour race, Freya Read, a car upholsterer, Hannah Gordon, a self taught mechanic who had her own workshop business and JerriLee Quintana, a body shop specialist, who restores classic cars and classic milk floats.

Why tax returns are forcing women to rethink their careers

There's a very specific moment that happens for many professional women at this time of year, and it has nothing to do with spring motivation or fresh starts. It arrives when they're doing their tax return, and what begins as a financial exercise often becomes something far more revealing.
