Since launching in central Leeds back in spring, a luxury high-tech private dental practice specialising in comprehensive dental care has enjoyed an impressive run of success, culminating in a string of prestigious award wins and nominations, Including UK practice of the year at The Dentistry Awards

Located on Wellington Street in a stunning Grade II listed building steeped in history, The Dental Architect run by the internationally acclaimed cosmetic dentist Dr Martina Hodgson has rapidly become one of the city’s go-to private practices for a range of specialist dental procedures.

With over two decades of experience under her belt, Dr. Hodgson is also recognised as the biggest Invisalign provider in Yorkshire. Not only has the already multi-award-winning professional been voted amongst the top 50 dentists within the country for the past two years but scooped two awards at Align 2022 for Best Team and Most Transformed Team within the UK and Ireland.

Global recognition
The Dental Architect also fought off tough competition from over 1,000 entrants to pick up two awards at The Private Dentistry Awards in London (Best Marketing and Design and Best Website), as well as nominations in three more categories (Best Practice, Best New Practice and Best Principal). The winning spree didn’t stop there, with the team going on to win UK Practice of the year at the national Dentistry awards.

Dr Hodgson has also received global recognition, having been awarded a highly sought-after Diamond Apex Award from Invisalign as recognition for being within the top 1% of Invisalign providers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This places Dr Hodgson amongst the very top practitioners of her field.

Demand for specialised dental cosmetic procedures has skyrocketed in recent years, largely thanks to the rise of social media and what Dr Hodgson refers to as the ‘Zoom effect’ in the post-pandemic world.

Positive wellbeing
Various studies have also linked cosmetic dental procedures to positive wellbeing and mental health, another factor which has pushed up demand for private practices. In a bid to ensure high-quality dental care is more widely available, The Dental Architect has recently launched several attractive VIP corporate packages for companies of all shapes and sizes to add to their employee benefits schemes.

Interest in The Dental Architect corporate packages has already been high, with two different types of cover allowing employees to access up to two examinations and hygienist visits per year. The offer also includes 10% off treatments, free teeth whitening for life, same day emergency appointments, worldwide 24-hour cover, and a free airflow stain removal upgrade with each hygienist visit.

Businesses offering this benefit as part of their wellness package have seen a rise in the number of employees taking up the offer in a year which has been dominated by news of the cost-of-living crisis.

World-class environment
The Dental Architect has not only grown a stellar reputation for its vast array of cosmetic procedures - which includes preventive hygiene, orthodontics, implants, and children’s dentistry - but also the world-class environment in which they are administered.

The Leeds clinic has a boutique hotel look and feel and features a beautiful Victorian sandstone façade and eye-catching interior design which creates a calming ambiance that instantly puts nervous patients at ease.

Dr. Hodgson said: “My vision was to create a stunning practice where patients would feel relaxed and comfortable and our team would enjoy coming to work, all whilst providing clinical excellence at achievable prices. I’ve been blown away by the amazing response we’ve had since we opened, and I can’t wait to see the clinic grow from strength to strength!”
Dr. Hodgson’s academic achievements have seen her become one of the first UK dentists to acquire a Postgraduate Diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy and gain a seat on the Private Dentistry Magazine’s Editorial Board. She is also a mentor for other women coming into dentistry as co-founder of Inspiring Women in Dentistry.
