More than one third of women do not think they get equal pay in their organisation

More than one-third of women (36%) believe they do not get the same pay as men at their organisation, according to a new survey. Ahead of International Equal Pay Day (18th September), workplace expert Acas commissioned YouGov to survey perceptions of pay equality. Sunny Bank Mills Gallery in Farsley is celebrating the lifetime’s work of two Yorkshire artists, ceramicist Loretta Braganza based in York and artist Sheila El-Hassani based in Leeds. Leeds City Council confirms new interim chief executive

Leeds City Council has confirmed the appointment of Mariana Pexton as interim chief executive in a unanimous vote of its full council. Mariana, the council’s director of strategy and resources, will take up the position when current chief executive Tom Riordan leaves later this month. She will be the first ever woman to take up the role, heading the second-biggest local authority in the country and bringing a strong track record of driving the council’s ambitions for both itself and the city.
