North Yorkshire doctor, Miss Lubna Khan-Salim is on a mission to challenge the anti-age rhetoric of the beauty industry with the launch of a new inclusive event series.

This first Beauty Briefing event will be hosted at the stunningly renovated Queens Hotel on 24th March, celebrating The Age of Beauty and challenging the view on how beauty is defined.

Former NHS plastic surgeon, Doctor Lubna says: “The beauty industry for a long time has been focused on being ‘anti-aging’ rather than celebrating age. Beauty should be timeless and inclusive, with no ‘one-look’ fits all approach. Lots of the women I treat want to celebrate their individuality and getting older with confidence.”

Beauty writer, Alice Hart Davis is joining forces with Doctor Khan-Salim for this first event and will be sharing her insight and predictions on beauty treatments and the industry.

Khan-Salim adds: “There are also lots of misconceptions around the aesthetic industry, what it involves, trends and legislation.

I wanted to create a regular event where women of all ages can come, enjoy each other’s company, find out all about the latest beauty treatments and hear direct from the experts in the industry. How fitting we’re hosting it in one of Leeds’ most historic and iconic buildings that’s just getting better with age!”

Attendees to the evening will enjoy a prosecco reception held in the Grand Pacific Restaurant and receive an exclusive goodie bag from Get Harley. Also supporting the event is Harrogate based, luxury pre-owned boutique, The Pod.

All profits from the event will be donated to the UN Refugee Agency for Ukraine.

Tickets can be booked at beautybriefing.eventbrite.co.uk
