After blowing us away with the debut runway show to take place in York Museum Gardens, York Fashion Week is back and bringing together creativity, expertise and collaboration with the launch of The Creative Exchange; a free business consultancy event designed to support those working across the fashion and creative industries.

Taking place across two dates this July, The Creative Exchange offers guests a unique opportunity to spend dedicated one-to-one time with six experienced industry professionals, each representing a different sector of the fashion world. During a series of ten-minute consultancy sessions, attendees can ask questions, seek advice, gain feedback and make valuable connections to help move their businesses and creative projects forward.

From Isabelle Randall who will share insights into Fashion Design, to Chelsea Talbot offering guidance on social media management attendees will have the opportunity to gain practical advice from professionals with a wealth of real-world experience. Also joining the lineup is Nicky Hayer who is a Brand and Marketing Consultant, Anthony Frith who is an Estee Lauder Professional Makeup Artist, Hannah Lunn; a professional photographer, and professional model booker Lacey Wilson from Face Model Management.

Speaking on the event, Nicky Hayer said, “This event is for people at all levels of their career. Maybe you’re student planning your next steps, or an established retailer looking to discuss brand growth. Perhaps you’re a freelancer wanting to level up your social media or an aspiring model who needs some guidance on how to get started. You’ll have ten minutes with each expert of your choice to pick their brains, and it’ll be a great chance to just meet more of the YFW community too.

Together, the speakers represent a diverse cross-section of the fashion industry, ensuring guests can access a broad range of perspectives, ideas and business advice during their one-to-one consultancy sessions.

The event will take place on:

  • Saturday 25th July – Spark York, 11am-1pm
  • Wednesday 30 July – Another Brother Café, 6:00pm – 8:00pm

"The Creative Exchange is all about making industry expertise more accessible," said Mark Bewick, co-director of York Fashion Week. "Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your business to the next level, these conversations can provide fresh perspectives, practical guidance and valuable connections. We're excited to bring together professionals from different areas of the fashion industry to share their knowledge with our community."

The Creative Exchange forms part of York Fashion Week's wider mission to champion creativity, collaboration and innovation while creating opportunities for independent businesses, designers and fashion professionals to thrive. These events form part of the extended York Fashion Week calendar which has been brought to life due to the support from the Mayor David Skaith and the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority through their High Street Fund.

Places are limited, and early booking is recommended. For more information and to reserve a place, visit York Fashion Week's website or social media channels.
