Specialist finance recruitment consultancy Headstar has expanded its team with five new hires as it looks to keep up with surging demand for its services.

Nichola Davies has joined the business as a manager specialising in the placement of finance professionals in qualified and senior finance roles. She arrives with a wealth of experience, having worked in recruitment since 2009 in both agency and in-house roles across a variety of industries.

She’s joined by Jade Goodman who takes up the role of senior consultant in the company’s executive search team, where she will focus on expanding and strengthening Headstar’s talent pool, developing strong relationships with candidates and clients along the way.

With six years’ recruitment experience and a proven track record in business development, Sophie Ripton has joined the part and newly qualified team as a senior consultant. Chartered Marketer, Sharon McCutcheon, has joined as events manager in a role that will see her work closely with marketing manager Sam Goodwin who has recently returned from maternity leave. In addition, the company has welcomed its fourth apprentice, 17-year-old Ruby Feather, who has joined as operations assistant.

These latest appointments come as the company, which recruits all areas of a finance team from entry level to CFO in addition to providing finance consultancy services such as turnaround support and part-time FDs, continues to experience strong demand. It achieved a 33% growth in turnover for the 12 months to the end of 2023, with its executive search services particularly in demand as large and medium sized businesses have looked to strengthen their finance teams with senior level hires.

Commenting on the new appointments, managing director James Roach said,
“We’re delighted to welcome Nichola, Jade, Sophie, Sharon and Ruby to our growing team.

“They join at an exciting time, with the business on track for a record first half performance, and the diverse skills and experiences they bring to the team mean we’re better placed than ever to connect businesses with quality finance professionals to help them to thrive.”

Headstar, originally known as FD Yorkshire Limited, was established 37 years ago and has grown significantly in recent years, expanding its client and contractor base which consists of a range of SMEs, as well as larger corporates including Next, RSM, NG Bailey and British Garden Centres.
