She wrote the script for three theatre shows: Eating the Copple Apple, what the dog said to the harvestand The Moon is Listening from Dawn til Dusk. Between writing, she guest lectures on revolutionary poetics and queer theory, and works as a lyricist with LA-based Maison Arts. She splits her time between Beirut and London.

Festival director Michelle Hodgson said: “We are thrilled that lisa luxx has agreed to become a Festival patron. Her heartfelt and mesmerising performances at the Festival have drawn high praise and her strong connection with the town also makes her a great ambassador for our Festival.”

Winner of the Accessible and Inclusive Award at the Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards (2022), the Festival will run from 11-28 April 2024, with a special performance by lisa luxx on Friday 26 April at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, comprising poetry performance and readings from her new short story collection Sun Son, supported by oud player Kareem Samara.
