The countdown is on for acclaimed bar-and-restaurant, The Botanist, to open its doors at The Glass Works square in Barnsley. Cocktail lovers will be able to get their hands on the venue’s famous innovative drinks from Monday 27th February, when the venue is set to welcome in guests for the first time.

An eagerly anticipated new bar and restaurant for locals, Barnsley’s winers and diners can look forward to The Botanist’s world-class cocktails, extensive craft beer offering and signature hanging kebabs that they’ll want to keep going back for.

Live music is another key ingredient in helping to create a relaxed and atmospheric experience-led social space, ideal for family meals, after-work drinks, sophisticated evenings and celebrating special occasions.

The interior fit-out of the space is currently underway and the brand is renowned for its grand botanical-inspired interiors. Guests can expect to enjoy beautiful installations of greenery and exposed brick walls adorned with impressive hand painted artwork whilst they drink and dine.

The bar will also feature a dedicated outdoor seating terrace, offering views across The Glass Works Square.

The Botanist is another major addition to The Glass Works, which is now 88% let in total. The high-end brand will complement the likes of Nando’s, Fridays, Starbucks, Coffee Boy and a number of quality independent bars and eateries.

Cllr Robert Frost, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture at Barnsley Council, said: “2022 was a fantastic year for Barnsley town centre. We welcomed an impressive 5.5 million visitors and saw Cineworld open alongside many new shops, restaurants and cafés.

“The culture of the town centre has really changed. More people are coming into town and, crucially, spending a longer period of time here, which helps support our fantastic mix of businesses. There’s a real sense of pride building.

“Leasing continues to be strong and we’re attracting some of the biggest national and regional names. The Botanist is another brand of renowned excellence and expands our thriving food and drink scene even further. I’m sure the public are as excited as we are about it opening next month.”

The award-winning brand is currently on the hunt for talented Yorkshire-based musicians, across a range of genres including rock, pop, soul and R&B, to join its roster of artists in delivering live entertainment at the new venue.
